Bio

I am a researcher specializing in machine learning and computer vision. My journey into computer science began in 2010 when I enrolled in the Software Engineering program at Isfahan University, Iran. After graduating in 2014, I moved to Canada to pursue a Master’s in Computer Science at Concordia University. During my time there, I had the privilege of working under the supervision of Dr. Sudhir P. Mudur and Dr. Charalambos Poullis in the Immersive and Creative Technologies (ICT) Lab, where I deepened my expertise in computer vision. After completing my degree, I transitioned into industry and spent four rewarding years as a software designer at Matrox Electronic Systems, gaining hands-on experience across various areas of software development. In 2021, driven by a continued passion for innovation, I relocated to Vancouver to join Huawei Technologies, where I worked on cutting-edge challenges in autonomous driving, focusing on the three pillars of Perception, Prediction, and Planning. In 2024, I made the decision to return to academia and pursue my PhD. I am currently a PhD student in Bioinformatics at the University of British Columbia under the supervision of Dr. Ali Bashashati. My research focuses on computational biology and genomics. For more details, please visit the AIMLab website. My journey is ongoing—stay tuned for more updates!

  • You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.
